Photographer Locations

A place. A brief. A photograph.

These 24 selected photographs connect real places with commissioned work from United National Photographers (UNP). They show the briefs, subjects and local knowledge behind our press, PR, corporate and editorial coverage, not the limits of where we operate.

Each location shown here is supported by photography held in UNP’s archive from work undertaken at, or directly associated with, that place.

Every new assignment is briefed and coordinated through one central Picture Desk, whether it involves one city or several locations. Captions distinguish work in city centres from assignments in the surrounding region.

How our photographer locations are selected

A location appears here when UNP has both a published location page and photographic evidence connected with work undertaken there or in the surrounding region. Wider operational coverage is not converted into a location page simply because UNP can provide a photographer there.

A selected view of a longer archive

UNP was established in 1997. Our agency history and collected trade-press coverage record its development. The Morrisons case study describes a commissioning relationship dating to 1997, while the Andy Burnham press archive records assignments from 2001 onwards. These 24 photographs are selected to demonstrate places, briefs and capabilities, not to present a year-by-year history of the agency.

Our Full House approach connects the photograph with its caption, metadata, permissions and context. For independent professional guidance on copyright, licensing and the business of editorial photography, see Editorial Photographers UK & Ireland (EPUK).

CAPABILITY IS WIDER THAN A URL

The photographs are selected. The coverage is wider.

These city pages show selected evidence of work and place. They are not the edges of the UNP network, lists of permanent offices or indicators of a photographer’s live availability. For a brief in another town, an industrial site or several countries, the Picture Desk checks the real requirements and coordinates the appropriate coverage.
