The people behind UNP’s national photography network.

UNP is built around experienced people: picture editors, coordinators and photographers who understand deadlines, protect brand reputation and deliver press-ready imagery with care.

Behind every assignment is a calm central Picture Desk, an experienced operational team and a managed network of photographers working across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and selected Ireland assignments. Together they support PR photography, press photography, corporate photography, healthcare photography, event coverage and multi-location communications projects for organisations across the UK.

Operational Workflow

How UNP assignments work

UNP operates through one central Picture Desk that manages briefing, photographer allocation, logistics, communication and delivery across nationwide assignments.

01

Brief received

The assignment is reviewed by the Picture Desk, including timing, editorial requirements, locations, delivery expectations and operational considerations.

02

Photographer allocation

A photographer is selected based on experience, geography, assignment suitability, sector familiarity and communications requirements.

03

Coordination & logistics

The Picture Desk confirms schedules, access details, parking, contacts, security procedures and live communication requirements before the assignment begins.

04

Coverage & delivery

Photography is edited, caption-aware where required and delivered through the UNP workflow for press, PR, editorial, healthcare, internal communications and corporate use.

05

Continuity & archive

Long-running campaigns benefit from repeat photographer familiarity, retained assignment knowledge and continuity through the same central Picture Desk.

Continuity & Experience

Nearly three decades of managed photography coordination

When UNP was established in 1997, well-wishers quietly suggested the agency might last a few months at best. The photography industry has always seen agencies appear and disappear quickly, particularly around changing technology, publishing trends and market cycles.

Nearly three decades later, many of the same photographers, Picture Desk contacts and client relationships are still part of the organisation. That continuity shapes how assignments are managed, how trust is built and how institutional knowledge is carried forward from one project to the next.

UNP continues to support national organisations, healthcare providers, retailers, charities, media teams, public-sector bodies and corporate communications departments through one managed Picture Desk and nationwide photographer network.
