Copyright and intellectual property are central to how United National Photographers Ltd (“UNP”) protects the work of our photographers and the content on this website. The content on this website represents both the professional livelihood of our photographers and the proprietary intellectual capital of United National Photographers Ltd.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all visual assets, written copy, page layouts, website architecture, source code and database structures on unp.co.uk are the exclusive intellectual property of United National Photographers Ltd and, where applicable, the originating photographers, in line with our copyright and intellectual property policy.

Copyright and intellectual property – legislative protection (UK & EU)

This website and its content are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (UK), the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997, and relevant European Union intellectual property legislation.

• Photography & visual media
  All images are strictly copyright protected. They must not be copied, reproduced, transmitted, deep-linked, downloaded, altered or otherwise used in any form without an express written licence from UNP.
• Website & database rights
  The design, structure and underlying HTML/CSS/JS code of this website, along with any associated databases, are protected works. Unauthorised scraping, data-mining, bulk downloading or replication of this infrastructure may constitute a breach of intellectual property law and, in some cases, the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
• Moral rights
  In accordance with Chapter IV of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, the moral rights of the authors (photographers) to be identified as the creators of their work are asserted. Uncredited usage, removal of attribution or derogatory treatment of the images is strictly prohibited.
• Artificial Intelligence / machine learning use
  No content from this website – including text, images, metadata or databases – may be used to train, fine-tune or otherwise develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) or machine learning systems without a specific, written commercial licence from UNP.

Active rights management

UNP uses digital monitoring and rights-management tools to identify unauthorised use of our imagery and content across the internet.

We protect our photographers’ rights vigorously. Where infringement is identified, we will seek a full settlement. This may include fees for unauthorised usage, administrative costs, and additional damages where appropriate.
