One Route • Clear Responsibility • Useful Delivery
What a multinational photographer partner provides
Large organisations may need photography in several regions, on the same day or over the lifetime of a campaign. The practical challenge is not simply finding photographers. It is translating one campaign into workable local assignments while preserving the story, visual priorities and delivery requirements that matter to the client.
A multinational photographer partner provides a single commissioning route for that work. UNP’s Picture Desk receives the central brief, identifies suitable photographers, confirms access and timing, and keeps the client’s requirements visible from the first call through to the final image set.
This model combines central accountability with local expertise. Photographers are selected for the location, subject and conditions of the assignment, then supported by a consistent briefing and delivery process. The result should feel like one campaign rather than a collection of unrelated local shoots.
UK Coverage • Regional Knowledge • Central Picture Desk
National reach with local expertise
A national organisation’s story rarely happens in London alone. It may unfold in distribution centres, stores, offices, factories, hospitals or community locations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each site has its own access, people, geography and operational pressures.
UNP coordinates photographers who understand their regions while working to a centrally managed brief. Local knowledge can reduce unnecessary travel, support practical planning and help a photographer work intelligently within a short access window. The Picture Desk provides the common operational framework around that local judgement.
This is relevant to brands with extensive UK estates as well as organisations commissioning a small number of carefully chosen sites. Coverage remains subject to photographer availability and the needs of each assignment, but the client retains one point of contact and one route for briefing, coordination and delivery. Morrisons • 402 Cafés • National Media Story
Morrisons campaign: one national story
In June 2020, Morrisons announced a new hot-food takeaway service across all 402 of its UK cafés. The story combined a nationwide operational change with recognisable consumer details: breakfasts, afternoon tea, fish and chips, collection from local stores and delivery in selected locations.
UNP commissioned experienced press photographer Victor de Jesus for the campaign. The task was to turn the operational announcement into clear, credible pictures that news desks could understand and publish. The photography needed to show the service, its setting and its human context without losing the practical information at the centre of the story.
The assignment demonstrates why press and PR experience matters. A usable campaign picture must do more than look polished: it should reveal the subject quickly, survive different crops and page layouts, and arrive with accurate information that allows editors to place it within the wider announcement.

Archive Evidence
From commissioned photography to national coverage

Consistency • Context • Brand Confidence
Consistency without making every location identical
Consistency in a national campaign does not mean asking every photographer to produce the same picture. Different sites offer different people, spaces, weather and operational realities. Trying to suppress those differences can make the photography less credible and less useful.
The stronger approach is to define what must remain consistent: the story priorities, essential brand elements, required picture types, caption information, technical delivery and any agreed restrictions. Within that framework, each photographer can respond to the setting and create photographs that feel connected without becoming formulaic.
Creativity and credibility therefore work together. Background control, responsible representation and an understanding of publication use help protect both the subject and the organisation. Where required, naming conventions, captions, metadata and delivery specifications can be built into the central brief before the first assignment begins.
Earned Media • Editorial Use • Campaign Evidence
Publication evidence and campaign value
National publication is one visible measure of a press photography campaign, although it is not the only measure that matters. The same photographs may also support regional media, corporate newsrooms, stakeholder communications, internal channels and a longer-term image library.
Morrisons’ announcement was covered across national and regional titles. The following live examples provide independent context for the scale and public relevance of the story:
- The Sun — Morrisons reopens its 402 cafés for takeaways
- Birmingham Live — Morrisons opens its cafés as takeaways
- Daily Express — Morrisons café takeaway across 402 supermarkets
- Daily Mirror — Morrisons launches new hot-food takeaway service
Strong distribution begins with useful assets. Editors need clear visual context, technically sound files and enough accurate information to understand what each frame shows. A managed photographer partner helps make those requirements part of the assignment rather than an administrative task left until afterwards.
Planning • Access • Delivery
Building a stronger multi-location photography brief
A productive brief identifies the communications purpose before it lists individual photographs. Who needs to use the images? What must an editor or audience understand? Which people, processes, locations or brand elements are essential? Answering those questions gives photographers a clear hierarchy rather than an inflexible shot list.
Practical information matters just as much. Site contacts, access windows, safety requirements, permissions, restricted areas, participant availability and delivery deadlines should be confirmed as early as possible. For multi-location work, agreed caption fields and file naming can prevent avoidable confusion when several image sets arrive together.
The UNP Picture Desk provides the central route through that process: interpreting the brief, matching photographers to locations, coordinating requirements and supporting delivery. The client gains national capability without losing the local judgement that makes each assignment work on the ground.
